All the kindergartens under the town's authority have already been gradually renovated, this time since august it's being worked on Hradby and Božena Němcova streets. The town received financial resources from Norway grants for the renovation.
Construction works are primarily aimed at increasing energy savings and consist mainly of insulating walls and roofs, replacing windows and doors. On Hradby, children can look forward to a new facade with children's motives on the attic and the walls of the middle block.
The town wants to create the best possible conditions for children in kindergartens and schools.
The city management cares about the quality of its kindergartens, so it tries to continue the reconstruction and modernization of their premises, thanks to which children can develop in a much nicer and healthier environment. "One of the main priorities was and is for me to create the best possible conditions in our schools and kindergartens for our children. As one of the few cities in Slovakia, we managed to obtain Norway grants in the amount of 1.4 million euros for various projects. Two of them are also our kindergartens, where we focused on energy savings as part of the project, which is more than relevant these days," said Mayor Tomáš Abel.
Both kindergartens belong to the Pionierska 2 Elementary School, so their operation is temporarily moved to the elementary school building, the pavilion for the first grade and the school children's club.
Among other things, sanitary facilities will also be restored at Hradby.
Kindergarten Hradby is the only kindergarten in Brezno where the reconstruction of the interior has not yet taken place. They are very much looking forward to the renewal, because after almost forty years they need it like salt. As reported by the investment department, the interior renovation is financed from the city budget and consists of the renovation of sanitary premises, where they will change the furnishings, new tiles and wall coverings, including the replacement of water and sewage systems. The other spaces are painted, the floor structures will remain in their original state.
Exterior work includes replacement of windows and doors, insulation of walls, roof and basement, replacement of lighting fixtures, with the aim of increasing the energy efficiency of the building.
In the future, the city also plans to renovate the kitchen so that children can eat in the dining room, outside the classrooms.
Renovation of the kindergarten continues also on Božena Němcová Street.
The kindergarten on Božena Němcova Street already underwent a partial renovation four years ago, which involved the renovation of the interior. This time, the construction work mainly consists of replacing windows and doors, insulating the walls and insulating the basement. "In the interior, the radiators will be replaced and the gas boiler room will also undergo a complete reconstruction - also all for the purpose of increasing the energy efficiency of the building. The roof has already been insulated at the level of the ceiling above the second above-ground floor as part of the reconstruction work in the first stages, together with the replacement of rain gutters and downspouts and a new coating.” In the future, the nursery still has to repair the gazebo separating the garden from the yard.
