The second conference was held within the project "Action plan and measures of the town Brezno aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change"

On June 22, 2023, the second conference took place within the project "Action plan and measures of the town Brezno aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change", which is implemented with the financial support of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, specifically from Norwegian grants and the state budget of the Slovak Republic.

At the beginning of the meeting, the vice-mayor of the town Brezno, Ing. Miroslav Fašang, greeted the participants. Then followed Ing. Denis Knotka, director of the Department of Control of Technical Assistance Projects and Transnational Cooperation Programs from the Ministry of the Environment with a presentation in which he presented the SK-Climate Program.

In the next entry Mgr. Milada Šimkovičová, head of the Department of Project Management from the Brezno Municipal Office, said more about the project "Action plan and measures of the town Brezno aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change". She presented the activities that the town Brezno is implementing as part of this project and pointed out the progress we have made so far.

Subsequently, Mgr. Šimkovičová also presented an entry from the Norwegian partner - the city of Ullensvang, who presented us with environmental activities in their city.

The analytical part of the Action Plan for adapting the town Brezno to climate change was presented by Mgr. Ján Matouš from the company ASITIS Ltd., who is processing the document "Action plan for the adaptation of the town Brezno to climate change".

The following presentation was addressing online monitoring of the environment. Information on this topic was prepared by Ing. Vladimír Demčík from the company BC BB, Ltd., who is a supplier for the activity "Online monitoring of environmental pollution" for the town Brezno.

After the break, Ing. Peter Tichý, head of the Department of Environment and Building Regulations from the Brezno Municipal Office, told us more about the manifestations and impacts of climate change. 

We could also learn new information about climate change and air quality from the presentation of RNDr. Martin Kremler, PhD., head of the Department of Air Quality Monitoring from the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute.

And the last one introduced was Ing. Ivan Kamenský, head of the Department of Investments from the Brezno Municipal Office with a presentation on the projects of the town Brezno with a focus on mitigating the consequences of climate change.
