Implementation of activities - installation of air quality sensors and combined sensor of meteorological parameters - wind speed and direction, temperature and relative humidity, precipitation and barometric pressure

Air pollution in the town of Brezno and its surroundings poses a significant threat to human health and the quality of life of its inhabitants. Being able to comprehensively estimate the overall pollution and air quality in town is very important for decision-making and implementation of preventive measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, 560 sensors (basic sensor 500 pieces, optimal sensor 50 pieces, full sensor 10 pieces) will be installed in the town at a distance of no more than 100 metres from each other, which will generate an extremely accurate map of the status of measurable indicators. The data obtained in this way will enable objective and extremely detailed processing of the list of risky localities, will inform about the relative state of the air within the cadastre, can be used to predict environmental degradation, allow more accurate definition of transport plan within town, or generate warnings of sudden deterioration. One of the key areas that the town can influence with this solution is the production of greenhouse gases - especially CO2.

Implementation of activities - application for air quality monitoring in town - electronization

Within the so-called "smart solutions" the town has proposed to implement measures aimed at online monitoring of environmental pollution, in particular air quality and noise, aimed at protecting and improving public health through air quality monitoring.

Implementation of outdoor intelligent lighting activities

The town of Brezno is planning to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by implementing measures aimed at saving electricity by installing 28 energy-saving solar lamps. This measure will create lighting conditions for the lighting of the inner blocks and increase the safety and quality of life of their inhabitants. As the construction of public lighting connected to the electricity distribution network will not be implemented, the installation of solar luminaires will avoid the need for primary energy (the luminaires will not consume any electricity from the electricity distribution network), thus saving CO2 emissions.
